Welcome

Welcome to my blog!!! This is a place where I will share, my hopes, dreams, and visions with you! Photography is my passion and I want to give you a first hand look at why I love doing this so much. Thanks for visiting! XOXO Renée

Tuesday Tunes: Adele

This is off the subject of photography, but I'm ok with that. I'm a lover of music, and music is very much a part of me. For a while now, I've been hearing people talk about an artist named Adele. I've had no idea who she is or what she was all about, but they've had nothing but great things to say about her. Yesterday I joined that club! I went out.....sampled her music and purchased the CD right away!

Adele is unique from many other artists. Her sound, her look, and the way she carries herself. She's a pop singer (although in my opinion she's more soul/jazz than pop) from London with two Grammys under her belt. Her debut album 19 claimed her Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

The British singer-songerwriter has been killing the charts since 19 years old, and now that she is 21, she is back for more. She is amazing! I'm so thankful to all the people that pointed me in her direction. It's a great CD and I will probably purchase her first one (19) as well. I hope that you guys will visit iTunes and/or YouTube and at least sample some of her songs. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

xoxo,

Renee

I Heart Faces: Sun Flare

I Heart Faces

Perhaps my favorite thing to shoot is a subject with a sun flare. When I saw this weeks I Heart Faces competition, I just knew that I had to enter. I am in love with sun flares because I love the way the sun lights up my subjects hair and adds a romantic look to my photos. With adding my 85mm lens to a sun flare, it makes for one deadly combination.

Here is my favorite sun flare picture that I have shot in 2011. Makes me smile every time I look at it!

Happy Monday!

More Life Changing Thoughts

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. The good, the bad, and the ugly. It all happens for a reason. There are lessons to be taught and lessons to be learned. What you make of those lessons is completely up to you and will determine your fate. As I mentioned last Sunday, I was awoken around 4am with thoughts (life changing thoughts) that will forever change my photography business. I always ask myself why things happen the way they happen and the truth is...we will never really know. I just choose not to question it, for he knows best. Nonetheless, I am thankful and very excited for these upcoming changes!

I'm starting to put a plan together and jotting all of these thoughts down in a notebook. I'm so nervous about this change. While I feel that it will be a positive change.....any type of change for me is nerve wrecking. I mean, I'm investing so much time and money into something that I can not be certain about. I do know that I am enjoying my time with photography and I will continue to let God lead me and be my rock through all of this. All I can do is thank him for yet another blessing that he did not have to give me!

In other news.......It's been a crazy short week and I am so thankful for it. In less than 48 hours, the hubby and I will be traveling to NYC for a much needed mini vacation. We held off any big birthday celebrations for the two of us because we knew that we were going to celebrate it with a mini trip. New York is the chosen spot! I can hardly wait.

I won't be blogging after today until I return....so forgive me in advance for not posting my Sunday Reflections, but I promise to blog extra hard next week! I'll miss you all! Have a great rest of the week and stay beautiful!

I'll leave you with a quote to keep you encouraged for the rest of the week!!

Sunday Reflections: 6 Years and Counting

If it seems like I've been celebrating a lot of holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries......that's because I am. They are all crammed into 4 little months from December until March and then we get a one month break until our wedding anniversary. So much has been going on lately that I can barely keep a thought together. Any who today marks 6 years of being together for me and my husband. 6 years ago he asked me to be his girlfriend and I checked the yes box. Best decision I ever made in this life of mine....so Happy Anniversary to us!

Diet and Fitness: I'm so trying to get on track and start back on the diet and fitness thing. I hope to be able to blog about it later this week and tell you guys about the things I am going to be doing to get where I want to be. I spent the week investing in books, running shoes, and other games/devices that will help me reach my goals! I'm so excited to get back in a groove, as it's been a LONG time!

Photography: I had a tough time sleeping last night because I had ideas running through my head like crazy. I came up with a way to rebrand myself and make my photography more me. So with that said....I will pretty much be starting from scratch. A new logo, new name, new blog, and an overall new image! I'm so excited about these changes, because change is always good and I'm hoping that it's the same case for me! This won't be an overnight change, but something that will likely happen at the beginning of the summer. With any major change, it takes time. And I plan on taking all the time I need to get things where I want it to be. I think you guys will love the change (at least I'm hoping so), but in the end...it's about me and I can't wait to get things in order.

The last thing that I wanted to share with you guys is that my 85mm lens finally came in this week! It was a birthday present to myself. It rained all weekend, so I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but I plan on getting great use out of it with all of the shoots and events I have going on this month!

Hope you guys had a great weekend! Let's get ready for a great week!

xoxo
