Project 365
Today I had the most random idea! I thought it would be a great idea to start my very own project 365. For those of you who don't know what P365 is, its a project that requires you to take one picture a day and post it. The purposeful this exercise is to post these pictures for 365 consecutive days. I figured that this would be a great exercise for a few reasons. 1.) It will force me to take more pictures and practice more with my camera 2.) It will allow me to be more creative with my photography and think outside the box and 3.) It will make me a better person/photographer. And I can't argue with any of that because it will make me a better person in the long run. If you are interested in keeping.up with the progression of my project 365, you can follow me on my tumblr blog: www.reneehicksphotography.tumblr.com and on my Flickr at www.Flickr.com/photos/nay_nay84

I Dance For The Love
I dance for the love
I dance even when I feel pain
I dance knowing there's something to gain
I dance for the love
I dance for me
I dance for everyone to see
I dance for the love
I dance as the sunshine
I dance hoping you will be mine
I dance for the love
I dance with words to say
I dance all day
I dance for the love
I dance even when you leave
I dance and still believe
I dance for the love

I Heart Faces Week 33 Challenge: Got To Wear Shades
An oldie, but goodie! My friend Colleen! This photo was taken just a few weeks after I purchased my Nikon in March of this year. This photo perfectly fits the I Heart Faces Challenge "Got to Wear Shades". Summer is coming to an end, but I have so many good memories to share in my first summer photographing! I love to learn and grow and doing these I heart faces challenges definitely have helped with the progression! Enjoy this beauty in her shades!

Tiffany R.: Maternity Shoot
I had the honor of shooting Ms. Tiffany in my first ever maternity shoot. Her baby bump was adorable and it totally made me want to have kids....just not any time soon. We traveled out to the beautiful Chateau Elan located in North Georgia. We had the opportunity to roam the vineyard and take a ton of pics. I couldn't have asked for a better mother-to-be, to photograph. I am so looking forward to when little baby Carter is born so that I can do his newborn shoot. Carter, your mother is a trooper and totally rocked this shoot out!

Lauren: 40's Pin Up Shoot
WOW......all I can say was that Lauren was a DREAM to shoot! I absolutely loved working with her and this is my most fun photo shoot to date! We make a great team and that is a big reason why this shoot was such a success. We both have very creative minds and love to work the camera. Here are a few of the pics we took. I'm loving this stuff more and more every day! I feel like I have found my calling in life!

Mi Familia: Canadian Edition
As I mentioned in a much earlier post, I am a Canadian! I've spent most of my life here in the U.S., but Canada is home. Surprisingly it's been 12 (YES T-W-E-L-V-E) years since I was last home and boy did it feel good to be back. The whole reason for the trip was to celebrate my grandmother's 70th birthday with a surprise party (let her tell it....she knew about it all along). LOL It was worth the trip just to see the smile on her face and see our family. As you will see in the pictures, my family had a ball. That's just one of the things that makes us so great! I'm looking forward to making this a yearly tradition and I am so glad that I was able to introduce my husband to the other half of my family. Till next time.......
