Who is Renee Francis?
I've gotten so excited about this photography thing and getting my feet wet that I totally forgot to introduce myself. How rude (in my Stephanie Tanner voice). LOL. I figured there are a lot of important things about me that you guys and gals may not know. So...here we go.....
I am Renee Francis and I just turned 26 (Feb, 27th) and I am so thankful for that. I have big goals and dreams to fulfill in 2010. Interesting enough....I'm also a Canuck! That’s right. You heard correctly. I was born in CANADA. I only lived there for 5 years and boy am I thankful. I can't stand cold weather. I've been raised in the south ever since. I love it here and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You can definitely say that I'm more Americanized now. I say ya'll and everything! lol Gotta love that southern charm. I love my family and cherish my close friends. Good relationships/people are hard to come by, so I value each and every one that I have. But above all...my dreams and all that I have accomplished would not be possible without my mom. I can only hope to one day repay her for the wonderful supportive person that she is! I love you mom!! =)
Let’s see....what else do you want to know about me? I am an athlete. My sports are softball and basketball. I don't play bball any more, but I am still a softball junkie. I played fast pitch softball all the way through college and I am now a part of a women's slow pitch team called ENOUGH SAID!! These women are like sisters. We travel the country every summer and have a ball playing the game that we love so much. We definitely are winners and we have the rings to prove it. Hehe.
Yeah I had a little skill back in the day-(Photo by Anthony Coles of Coles Photography)
Oh and one minor detail that I forgot to mention is that I am getting MARRIED!!!! lol Yes little ol tomboy Renee is getting M-A-R-R-I-E-D!!! My fiancé’s name is Walt and we have been together for 5 years now (March 6th was our 5 year anniversary-GO US!!!). Our wedding date is May 22, 2010 and will be in the Dominican Republic. We have 25 of our closest friends and family members attending our wedding. It's intimate, special, and oh so us!! It's almost here and I can't wait.
Two Peas in a pod. (Walt and I at dinner for his 24th bday-Jan. 2010)
So where does this photography thing tie in? Well...it's always been a big part of my life. Most that know me well know that I almost never travel without a camera of some sort in my hand. I love creating memories and capturing that single moment forever. Times change, people change, but pictures don't. No matter what, you can always go look at a picture and it (like a time machine) will bring you back to that time and place. My poor future children are going to hate me because I'm going to be THAT parent. The one who always has a camera in tow and is forcing them and their friends to gather round for that picture."Just one more" I'll say as the eyes roll and the postures slump with boredom and attitude. Thank God I have many more years until I see those days. Photo taking is something I can't help. It just comes naturally to me. They say love what you do and do what you love.....so here I am sharing my love with the world!!
Well that’s me in a nut shell. I hope you enjoyed the inside look at who Renee Francis (soon to be Hicks) really is. I'm just a southern girl trying to make something of herself. <3
